Single Elimination Bracket Generator — Free, Instant, Any Team Count

Build a seeded single elimination bracket for 2–128 teams in seconds. BYEs are assigned automatically to the top seeds, so 5, 7, 11 or 23 entrants all produce a valid bracket.

How single elimination works

Every match is a knockout: the loser is out, the winner advances. With 16 teams you play 15 matches and finish in 4 rounds, which is why it is the default for one-day LANs, community cups and any event on a fixed schedule. The trade-off is variance — a single bad map ends a strong team’s run, so it rewards consistency less than double elimination does.

Seeding and BYEs

Paste your teams in ranked order: line 1 is the #1 seed. The generator uses standard bracket seeding, so the top seed meets the bottom seed, #2 meets #15, and so on — keeping the strongest teams apart until late rounds. If your entrant count isn’t a power of two, the bracket expands to the next one (8, 16, 32, 64) and the spare slots become BYEs, awarded to the highest seeds first. With 13 teams in a 16-slot bracket, seeds 1, 2 and 3 skip round one.

When to pick something else

If you have prize money on the line, use double elimination — one upset shouldn’t decide a title. If you have more than about 32 open entrants and limited rounds, Swiss resolves the field faster. If you have 4–8 teams and want maximum games played, round robin gives everyone a full schedule.
